Cultural and activity days out are an important feature of life at WMS.
National Gallery and Royal Opera House
Walthamstow Montessori School were very lucky to be invited by the Royal Opera House to watch a matinee performance of Frederick Ashton’s Rhapsody and the Two Pigeons by The Royal Ballet. Miss Lorna with the assistance of class teachers & parent helpers, escorted the Upper School from Walthamstow to Central London for a day of culture and classics in the Capital. The morning was spent as an introduction to the fine arts at The National Gallery and the afternoon was spent at the matinee performance of The Royal Ballet Company.

William Morris Gallery
We are very lucky to have many valuable and interesting places to visit in our locality. Our Art class spent the morning at The William Morris Gallery in Walthamstow learning about using print in art & design.

Lea Valley Nature Reserve
Upper and Lower Prep classes take in a day at the Lea Valley Waterworks Nature Reserve. Our pupils had the opportunity to explore the reserve, watch the wildlife and a great variety plants. We learned about the different parts of plants we eat, collected seeds, flowers and leaves, and played a bird game.

Royal visit
It was a school trip out and a very proud moment when we met the Queen and the Duke in Walthamstow 2012. The Duke shared a few humorous words with Miss Lorna when drawings that the WMS children had made were handed to him.
We appeared on the main news that day too!
Here you can see our children handing the Queen, after practising their curtsies, some flowers.
